2020 Cheers!

Today is the official workday of a new year - back to our daily routine and getting into our normal groove. It has been a wonderful break and we are so excited for 2020~ We have chosen our power words of 2020 = personal growth, patience, sacrifice, focus and determination.

A little on 2019.

First - »¦« - lets reflect a little business life this past year. 2019 was a year for growth and possibilities. It was a year of training and learning new techniques and also growing into a brand new studio space. A year of welcoming a full time partner / sister into the business and (towards the end of the year) we gained an incredible intern, Carly. We have done a lot of behind the scenes, grunt work if you will, in 2019 to encourage us to do the best job we can all while maintaining the new and exciting changes for this year.

2019 Timeline:

January - »¦« - I had the most amazing opportunity to work alongside some of the best photographers in California. It was a fun week of shooting in the desert with amazing models. On this trip, I had met up with models along the way in locations like Sedona, AZ (IT WAS SOOO AMAZING THERE)

February - »¦« - June As soon as I came back from that trip - we acquired a NEW STUDIO space and had the green light to start our renovations. Fast forward to June 20th to our Grand Opening! That was a busy and fun project for us and has allowed us to grow the business and offer more indoor options to our clients. We may have some plans for a phase 2 (upstairs) project this year, BUT we are not in such a rush this time. That will be fantastic though once it complete! Most of our shoots will happen in that wide open space.

July - »¦« - August This year has also been about collaborating with some amazing vendors in the Industry. A big shoutout goes to Lindsay Kooser with Veil Events. We had worked through most of the summer and fall to create some awesome images for her new Veil Events Magazine coming out in 2020. It was also A BLAST working with Mrs. Kansas, she had modeled for some of the images in the magazine.

July - »¦« - I had my first Colorado wedding and it couldn’t have gone any better.

Note: if you know of anyone traveling that would like destination photos or even a destination wedding photographer, as unrealistic as it may sound, please do reach out. I am looking to travel more in the future and need to add some experience to my portfolio, so let’s see if we can make something happen.

On top of all of the above, we have had a busy season in general and are truly blessed with the best clients. We had also taken on a few major community events for our hometown and are looking to create these to annual events. One was our Halloween and the other Hometown Holiday Spectacular, which you can learn more about under our events tab on Facebook.

We strive to build relationships with you and appreciate all of your support. A big focus of ours this year has been customer service. Kari has come on board and has taken on a lot of the business responsibilities such as customer relations, billing, and behind the scenes. It has also been amazing working with my sister. I am so proud of what we are accomplishing together.

Additionally, we now have an intern, Carly. She is learning all of the ins-and outs of what we do and I am pretty sure you will see her in some aspect whether it is at a Bridal Fair or just behind the desk in the studio. We are so lucky to have such a talented young lady that is so driven and ready to take on any challenge we throw her way.

Over the holiday, we took a trip to California for a much needed break. It was such a busy year and was good to take time away to reflect and focus on how to make 2020 the best year yet. My son Wyatt thought the Joshua Trees were pretty cool.

2020 will be a great year!

So far this sounds pretty busy I am sure.. which brings me to the following items! We are changing our approach a little bit in 2020 with scheduling, not only to help ourselves in work - life balance but also to help clients in planning what to do for family photography throughout the year. We will be holding themed mini sessions more often, just about monthly, and have them all listed on a page on our website and on facebook under the events tab. Booking will open up at certain times, but you will be able to take a look at what we have coming up and plan accordingly. There will also be travel dates where I will be in different areas to assist with scheduling. Along with that said, we are encouraging everyone to signup for our newsletter - which will come out Quarterly and will give a heads up on when signups will take place before they are listed online, so you have a great first chance to snag one of our deals. (Sign-up below)

We will also be taking a limited amount of regular sessions per month. So we are kindly reaching out to our clients and followers to help us be proactive this year and get on the books early.

Wishing everyone the best this year, good health and peace.

xoxo Molly Harmon
